Dosage Initial & maintenance dose	Intramuscular or intravenous injection: Adults: 1-2g every 8 hours or once every 6 hours. Newborns: 50mg/kg per day in 2~4 doses; severe infections 150~200mg/kg per day. Children: 100~150mg/kg per day in 2~4 doses; severe infections can be up to 200mg/kg per day.
